Sienna's mobile!

Sienna turned 9 months old this past Friday. She's learned quite a bit over the past 4 weeks. Sienna loves to point at things, open/shuts the drawer at the bottom of her crib, crawls around (today she manage to go from the living room to her bedroom) and she is standing up in her crib. Her new found mobility is quite scary for us.

Bedtime is a challenge. It was a lot easier getting her to fuss herself to sleep when she couldn't sit right back up, or stand in her crib in protest.

Her 9month day photoshoot didn't go so well. Now that she can crawl away, it's like trying to take a picture of an animal in the wild... I kept getting her to smile at the camera, as she lunged to snatch it from me. Finally, I gave up and had to use the "binky".

8 months old today!

Every month I video tape Sienna on her birthdate. Today I was expecting her to do something on camera she had started doing for the past few weeks like, her "smiley eye expressioin" or when she's sitting she quickly gets into crawling position, and makes an attempt to crawl.

Instead, she starts clapping! I've never seen her clap before, and I saw it for the first time while looking through my camera. It was so funny watching her clap, pause to examine her hands, and start clapping again. Yay Sienna!

I discourage Sienna from doing this, but she slipped this one in while I was messing with the camera.

June Recap

I'm so bad. I didn't have a single post of Sienna for the month of June. We've been busy, but that is no excuse. Tomorrow she'll be 8months and I haven't posted a single picture of her from June and it's midway into July. She is growing so fast, and baby talking away. Sienna is not crawling yet, but she is about to any day now. Her biggest milestone is her 2 bottom teeth!

Half a year old already

Sienna is home sick today with a fever, but overall she was still in a pretty good mood. She is really into playing with her feet, and trying to get them in her mouth. Anything she can grab goes in her mouth. She gets excited when she sees her bottle and most of the time holds it herself. She's laughing and giggling all the time now especially when we play peek-a-boo. We took our routine monthly photo shoot before her sweet potato lunch. Yum!

Good Morning, I'm 5 months old!

April 22nd Sienna and her Daddy shared a birthday. Thomas is a year older, and Sienna is now 5 months.

I've been back at work and busier than ever. I wish I had more time to spend with Sienna. She is growing up so fast and so much fun!

This months milestones include: sitting up for a full minute at a time, playing peek-a-boo, laughing, and saying "mmmaama "with a frowning face when she starts to fuss. I know she's not old enough to know the word mama, but I wish she'd make the sound without the whimpering frowny face. She is teething now, so there's been more frowning than smiles lately.

Her face is very expressive like a cartoon, so here are some morning comic strips of Sienna on her 5 month day. At least , she is a morning person and is usually a Happy baby.

first Easter bunnies

4months old

Sienna is really beginning to notice the world around her. The weeks leading up to my return to work we've gone shopping together, taken walks in her stroller in Tiburon, and I've strapped her on with the carrier and walked around downtown Petaluma with her. She loves laughing and smiling at everyone she sees. At 4months she should start to roll over, but I think she enjoys practicing to stand more than learning to crawl or sit on her own.
