28 months - " I can do it."

In the last few months Sienna has been talking up a storm. I just find myself having more and more conversations with her. This last week, as she turned 28 months, I really noticed the difference.

" I can do it, Mommy." or " What is this?", " Slow down, Mommy. ", "What is Zacky doing?", "Happy Friday!", "Please Mommy, I said please." , and the longest string of words today " What is this? I can't reach it. It's up high."

My little toddler is turning more and more into a kid each day.

We got a break from all the rain last Sunday. Finally! Sienna's been singing the "Rain rain, go away" song.

27 month old Sienna

In the past month Sienna's vocabulary has grown. It started with her transition to the next classroom up at Daycare. She's so much grown up. Sienna proudly tells people she is going to be a big sister. I'm feeling and looking more like I'm in my 3rd trimester now, rather than my 2nd.

Last week Sienna was singing Happy Birthday. I asked her who's birthday was it? She remember Auntie Mel's birthday was next. Tomorrow is Auntie Mel's birthday. Happy Birthday Melinda!

Yesterday we took a family trip out to San Francisco from Larkspur. Sienna enjoyed her first trip on a Ferry.

A late update! I don't know where the end of 2009 went. For my failed 2 months in a row update,
Here is a video clip of Sienna singing her ABCs at 25 months, and a typical end of day playtime in her room. She is still wanting me to sing her ABCs everyday on the ride home from school. Old McDonald is the other song she enjoys a lot.
Sienna's vocabulary is growing a lot with more complex sentences. A little parot these days repeating everything she overhears, so we have to be careful what we say around her!

Happy 2nd Birthday Sienna!

We had an animal themed birthday party for Sienna. She loved everything from opening presents, to the balloons, and the animal crackers. When it came time to sing "Happy Birthday" and blow out her cake, she was a little concerned. I think her favorite part of the day was getting to ride her new tricycle.

Happy Halloween!

This year Sienna was going to be a pumpkin for Halloween. I bought her costume earlier in the month instead of waiting until the last minute like last year.
Good thing, she hated it, but loved the pumpkin bag. I tried every day for a week to get her into the costume before returning it to the store.
At the store I showed her all the different things she could be, but it was still "No no no!"

I remembered the butterfly wings that her grandmother got her ( she liked those ok ) and the tiara she grabbed from the toy chest during her first visit to the dentist ( she liked it). I found a purple fairy dress to tie everything together, and finally tricked her into wearing it.
